What is Teflon pipe (PTFE)?

1. Why is it called Teflon pipe (PTFE)? How is Teflon pipe named?

Teflon pipe, also known as PTFE pipe, commonly known as the “king of plastics”, is a high molecular polymer polymerized with tetrafluoroethylene as a monomer. White waxy, translucent, excellent heat and cold resistance, can be used for a long time at -180 ~ 260ºC. This material does not contain any pigments or additives, is acid-resistant, alkali-resistant and various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, PTFE has the characteristics of high temperature resistance and extremely low friction coefficient, so it can be used for lubrication, making it an ideal coating pipe for easy cleaning of the inner layer of water pipes.

2.Teflon pipe types

①. Teflon smooth bore tube is made of untreated 100% PTFE resin and does not contain any pigments or additives. It is suitable for use in aerospace and transportation technology, electronics, components and insulators, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, environmental science, air sampling, fluid transfer equipment and water treatment systems. All pipes are available in anti-static (carton) or colored versions.

②. Teflon corrugated pipe is made of untreated 100% PTFE resin and does not contain any pigments or additives. It has excellent flexibility and torsional resistance, providing excellent performance in applications requiring tighter bend radii, greater pressure handling capabilities or crush resistance. Bellows are available with flares, flanges, cuffs or a combination of multiple optimized pipe solutions. All pipes are available in anti-static (carbon) versions.

③. The temperature characteristics and corrosion resistance of Teflon capillary tubes have been widely used in corrosion-resistant industries, such as chemical industry, pickling, electroplating, medicine, anodizing and other industries. Capillary tubes mainly have excellent corrosion resistance, good scaling resistance, excellent aging resistance, good heat transfer performance, small resistance, small size, light weight and compact structure.
